Wanted to show off

Hey everyone this is sort of a part two of my last post, but more of me showing a little love to my bike. I bought my bike some new wheels, these wheels are a lot heavier and have less of a chance of coming out of true. My wheels that came with the bike had kept coming out of true almost every time I would go out for a ride. I was getting super frustrated, and it was time and realization that I needed to have stronger and more spokes on my wheels. lets face it, I'm no Tinkerbell on a bike.

So I haven't had the chance to take them out for a real ride, but when I do I'll let you know how they held up. For those who are wondering what type of wheels I bought. I bought the Vuelta Corsa HD Pro Wheel set and bought Specialized Espoir Elite tires to go with them. These wheels and tires are suppose to be real good for heavy training and long endurance rides. Anyways I thought I show them off and show off my bike a little. Oh I forgot I also bought new bar tape for my bike as well. Supposedly they are even better than the Lizard skin bar tape. All the reviews I read and plus me riding with the new bar tape, I would have to agree with the reviewers. The bar tape helps take a way a lot of the vibration when riding. The funny thing is I can't remember the name f the tape, if I can remember the name I'll post it with the website I got it at.

My bike is a Cannondale Synapse3 Full Carbon... I love that bike!

Happy New Years Everyone

I just wanted to take brief moment and wish everyone a happy new years. I hope 2014 was a good year for those who entered in events. As for me 2014 was a big year for me, I had completed a lot of self accomplishments as well as made a lot of new friends, and gained back a lot of old relationships with family. So for me 2014 was a GREAT year, and I hope 2015 has new and exciting new accomplishments for me to achieve as well as over come barriers and obstacles.

2014 was a great year for me as well as a tough year for me. It had a lot of great moments as well as pitfalls and mental blocks that I had to work really hard to break through. Most importantly I learned a lot about myself and my body. I post this one time on Facebook, basically stating " You'd be surprise how much pain your body can endure, and continue to keep going".  It's true... 100 percent true.  Part of this blog is not just only for CMT awareness, but also to inspire those who think they can't or couldn't do such incredible feats. And to those people, I say your wrong. One of my  problems is that I want to bite of more than I can chew, I think we all do that, and that's how sometimes we get a negative effect of what we are trying to accomplish. So whats happens? We fail, and then we give up.

So I tell those nay sayers that you can do what you want to accomplish, but you need to take smaller steps to reach your goals. Like today is a good example, I was talking to my buddy Evan, and I said that as soon as I find the correct AFO for me, I know I can run 10 miles. And I knew right then and there I shouldn't have opened my mouth. Evan just looked at me and said WHOA, WHOA, WHOA, lets slow down there killer and right then and there  I knew I was biting off more than I can chew.

Training is like being a baby you have to learn how to crawl, before you can walk, and then run. If you make small attainable goals every day, your chances of failure drop immensely. So make 2015 the year you make great healthy decision and great exercise decisions, by making small goals. Like if you want to start running and be active, then start out by walking to the corner of your street and back home. That's first goal.. See small attainable goals. When I first started to ride... my first ride was down the street and back home. To be honest, I thought I was going to die! I was a big mess. Just tell yourself these are the building blocks to something spectacular, and that spectacular is a healthier body, healthier mind, and most importantly a healthier you. Now don't forget, their is two parts to this. Exercise is number one, and your eating habits is number two. and I am guilty of that myself.

Eating is super important, because it's all about what we put in our bodies. You put the right foods in your body, your body becomes a well oiled machine. You put junk in it, well your going to have a really hard time. One of the first thing my doctor said  to me when he diagnosed me with type II diabetes. Is that America has great food, but a good portion of that food is ALL bad for us.  So this is how I look at it... If your serious about changing your lifestyle you have to have both exercise and eating all in check. What I mean by that is, don't say your going to go on a diet, a diet is for those who change the way the eat for a short period of time and then go back the way they were eating prior to the dieting. I call that the "Yo-Yo" effect. Honestly, that is super bad for your body.

If your decide to make that change to be healthier and live a better eating habit, than your making a "Lifestyle Change" your not dieting, because that's what it really is!  Leave dieting for the famous people, you want to change your Life style. So the next time you are at work and our chit chatting with your co-workers, and you here them talk about dieting, ask them how come they just don't make a lifestyle change. I'll bet you, you will get the deer in the headlight look. :) I tell people that all the time at my job, when they asked me how I lost all that weight. They just sit there and think about what I said. It kind of comical to be honest.

Well I hope I gave you guys some food for thought for 2015. I want to inspire those who think they can't, I want to encourage those who think they can't. I ask you to do the same, because it's people like me who thrive and admire those who have.

Just like that movie Pay it forward, I will always Pay it Forward to those who are looking for a hand to reach out to them.

Happy New Year Everyone
